Meet Our Staff




Rebecca Salisbury - President and Coach
2018 - 16U Coach
Rebecca grew up in Fort Collins, playing competitive ball for the Buckaroos, Fort Collins Stars, and Poudre High School, as a pitcher and infielder. She went on to play 4 years of Division III softball at Washington University in St. Louis, where she received her BS in Biomedical Engineering and minor in Computer Science. Upon graduating in the Spring of 2012, she made her way back to Colorado and got a job in the Boulder area as a design engineer.
During high school and college, she helped coach various rec teams, gave pitching and hitting lessons, and helped run clinics. She began coaching with Pride in the spring of 2013, and her passion for coaching has only grown since. She also coached Fairview High School as the JV Head Coach in Fall 2015 and at Boulder High School in the fall of 2013. As a lifelong softball player and sports enthusiast, Rebecca couldn't be more excited to be coaching and managing the Boulder Valley Pride organization.






Katie Fuller - Vice President and Coach
2018 - 16U Coach
Katie grew up in Boulder, playing for the Boulder Pride, Berthoud Blaze, Brighton Bulldogs, and Boulder High School, as a catcher and 3rd baseman. She went to school and played softball at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota where she majored in Applied Mathematics and Statistics and minored in Psychology. She moved back to Colorado after graduating in December of 2013 and now works as an analyst for a tech company in Denver. 

Throughout high school and college Katie helped coach several teams including rec teams as well as at Brighton High School. She has helped out at several clinics and umpired for IPGSA. She started coaching with Pride in spring of 2014. Growing up playing for Pride, Katie is very excited to be involved in the program as a coach and is looking forward to seeing the organization grow over the next few years.










Susan Guegan - Board Member and Coach
2018 - 14U Coach
Susan started mentoring young softball players in 1978 when she was a junior in high school and has never stopped. She was a leader on her high school team, played college ball at LIU Post, and had the rare opportunity to play on an international team sponsored by the US Olympic Committee to promote the game of fastpitch softball just prior to its inception as an Olympic Sport.


She coached baseball for many years when her boys were young, and then returned to softball as head coach of the Boulder High School program for 5 years from 2010 to 2015. Susan is passionate about coaching and mentoring young athletes to be the best players and people they can be. She loves the game and always welcomes "having a catch" with anyone at any time!










Kristi Sawers - Coach
2017 - 10U Coach 
Originally from Worcester, MA and a diehard Red Sox Fan, Kristi and her family moved to Boulder in 2006, after 22 years of living in another great college town, Ann Arbor, MI. 
She was a division I collegiate athlete at Syracuse University where she received her BS in business. 

Kristi has 25 years of coaching experience at the middle school & high school levels. She believes success in sports is not defined by the wins & losses but by the personal growth achieved on and off the field.  She loves mentoring young female athletes and watching them grow into confident young women. She just finished up her first season as a Varsity Softball coach at Fairview High School, following five great years with Boulder High Softball. 









 
Melanie Yee - Coach
10U Coach 
Melanie grew up in Boulder, playing with IPGSA (Val was her first coach!) and for Boulder Pride and Boulder High School. She graduated from CU Boulder with a BA in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and is currently working for a software company in Boulder.

Melanie began coaching with IPGSA in 2009 and has coached girls from 8U to 14U. She loves seeing players develop lifelong skills and friendships. Melanie coached with Pride in 2013 and is beyond excited to be back!












Val Knopf - "The Old Guy"

Assistant Coach
Val started coaching with IPGSA IN 1998. He has coached girls ages 8-18 in summer programs in Boulder, Berthoud, and Brighton. Val coached at the high school level at Boulder High from 2004-2008 and 2011-2014, and at Brighton High School from 2008-2011.

Val loves the game of softball and has an extensive knowledge of the fundamentals, strategies, and rules of the game. He is dedicated to helping the girls become the best ball players they can be.










Courtney Judish - Coach
2018 - 16U Coach 
Courtney grew up in Fort Collins, playing ball for the Fort Collins Stars,Triple Crown, and Rocky Mountain High School, as a 3rd baseman and shortstop. She has played with Rebecca during her Fort Collins Stars years. She went on to play a year of Division II at Colorado School of Mines before tearing her labrum and deciding to hang up the competitive cleats. She completed her BS in Civil Engineering. After graduation in May of 2013 she started her work with Hensel Phelps.


Throughout high school and college, she helped coach rec teams, competitive 16u and 18u teams, and helped run clinics in Fort Collins. Courtney coached with Pride in 2015 and is excited to be back to help the Pride organization grow and succeed.










Kelly Tracy - Coach
10U Coach 
Kelly grew up in Colorado Springs and played competitive softball for the Colorado Springs Thunder, Aquasox, and Pine Creek High School. She graduated from CU Boulder with a BA in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and is currently working for a biotech company in Boulder.

Kelly began coaching with IPGSA in 2009 and coached for five years, with age groups ranging from 10U to 14U. She loves working with young female athletes and teaching them skills that they can use on and off the field.  She is excited to get back to coaching and thrilled to be a part of the Boulder Pride organization.









Hayley Howard - Coach
10U Coach
Hayley grew up playing softball in Connecticut and continued her career as an outfielder at Kenyon College. Following a winter as a kids' ski instructor in Steamboat, she decided to stay in Colorado and moved to Boulder, earning a Master's from CU. Hayley now works as an analyst for a direct marketing company in the Boulder area. After a few years away from softball, she is excited to be back around the game and around the great players, parents, and coaches in the Pride organization.
